Former Manchester United wonderkid Adnan Januzaj could be the next notable arrival to the Saudi Pro League, according to reports.
Januzaj is currently plying his trade with Sevilla and has three years remaining on his contract but is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
After a chaotic summer where they seemingly put their entire squad up for sale, the Europa League winners find themselves bottom of the league after three straight defeats.And according to Mundo Deportivo, Januzaj does not appear to have a future in Andalusia and could be on the move.
Al Tai are believed to be keen on the Belgium international, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir, where he made 17 appearances.Given he is not registered to play, he's not played a single minute this season for Sevilla, who are hoping to sell him in order to have funds available to bring in a centre-back and defensive midfielder.
French side Stade Rennais have also been interested in Januzaj, who signed for Sevilla on a free after leaving Real Sociedad in 2022.
Januzaj came through the ranks at United and was a shining light in David Moyes' dismal spell at Old Trafford.
He scored twice on his first Premier League start and was nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award after just ten games for United.
Januzaj was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland and struggled to nail down a starting spot at United.Januzaj will always be seen as a wasted talent that never fulfilled his potential but the player himself feels as though he never had "the right coach to get me on my level".
He told ESPN: "When Van Gaal came, I was playing one game out of six, so it was difficult, and I was like, 'What am I doing here?'
"At United, I didn't have that many chances, especially when Van Gaal and Mourinho came. When they came there it was more difficult for me because I was a young player.
"I was 18 or 19 and I just had to accept things. Before that, I had people who believed in me like Ferguson.
"If he had stayed there longer, I think I would have played longer for Manchester United."
