Six suspects accused of murdering former Juja MP George Thuo have been found to have a case to answer.
Justice Roselyn Korir on Wednesday said the prosecution had proved its case against the accused persons beyond reasonable doubt.
During the trial, the prosecution called 30 witnesses and adduced ten exhibits.
The accused persons are alleged to have committed the offence on the night of November 17, 2013 at Porkies Garden Restaurant in Thika town within Kiambu County with others not before court. They denied the charges.
The six suspects in the Thuo murder are Paul Wainaina Boiyo, Christopher Lumbasio Andika, Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngugi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge and Ruth Vanessa Irungu.
Boiyo is the proprietor of Club Porkies in Thika while Lumbasio was a friend of the late Thuo.
Ndinda is the waitress who allegedly served Thuo while Vanessa is the woman reveller who bought Thuo a beer before his death.
An affidavit report filed in court by a homicide detective said the six were arrested after investigations revealed that Thuo’s death, “was due to haemorrhagic gastroenteritis acute due to suspected chemical poisoning.”
The defence hearing begins on February 14, 2023.
According to the defence lawyers, the accused will give sworn evidence.
