The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) group has appointed former Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua to its board of directors.
In a statement from group secretary Bonnie Okumu, KCB said Kinyua's appointment was effective March 24.
It lauded Kinyua for his 44-year experience of serving in the public service saying he "has a wealth of experience in implementing key government initiatives and reforms including the liberalization of the banking sector, the foreign exchange market and the trade and capital accounts of the balance of payments among other initiatives."
Joseph Kinyua left the civil service on October 27, 2022, after an illustrious career spanning four decades that saw him serve four Presidents.
He served as Permanent Secretary in 2002, just a few months before President Daniel Moi retired. At 62 years, Kinyua was appointed to the most powerful public servant's post in 2013 by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
