Racing 92's powerful Fiji centre Josua Tuisova will be sidelined for several months after suffering a knee injury in last weekend's Rugby World Cup quarterfinal loss, the French club announced on Thursday. The 29-year-old, who was replaced late on in Sunday's 30-24 defeat to England, requires surgery delaying his debut for his new club.
Tuisova – man of the match in Fiji's surprise win over Australia in the World Cup pool stage match – played 19 times for Lyon in the French Top 14 last season, scoring nine tries.
It has been a tough few weeks for Tuisova.
He missed his seven-year-old son's funeral earlier this month after opting to stay with his Fijian teammates in France.
Along with South Africa captain Siya Kolisi, Tuisova is a key part of Racing's close-season recruitment with former England boss Stuart Lancaster taking over as director of rugby at the 2016 French champions.
