Fans feel Jurgen Klopp has put out a disclaimer after Liverpool completed the signing of Japanese international Wataru Endo from Stuttgart.
After losing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, Liverpool were linked with a move for Stuttgart captain Endo.
On the back of the news, fans were left angry and disappointed that Liverpool have had to settle for a lesser-known name.
After Endo’s signing was completed, Liverpool boss Klopp was passionately defending his new player. The Liverpool boss said: “I know how this football world works. I can see it in people’s eyes with the names that were flying around.
“Do me a favour, give us a second and let’s have a look. He’s really good, I’m really happy with the signing, I can’t say it differently, it’s a really good one.”
Fans were quick to react on social media.
One said: “Dkm, I’ve never seen Klopp sign someone and put a disclaimer out. He said ‘low him’.”
Another tweeted: “Saying “let me land” for your new signing is mental.”Someone else wrote: “The fact that you've signed a player and you have to convince everyone that he's really good says it all really.”
Whilst a fifth commented: “Saying "hear me out" about your own signing.”
In his first interview with the club, Endo said: “I'm very happy right now and I'm so excited to join a big club in Liverpool.
“It feels amazing and this is my dream. It's always [been] a dream to play [in the] Premier League and with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's a dream come true for me.”
Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Saturday as they host Bournemouth at Anfield.
