Eagle-eyed supporters may have spotted Sergio Reguillon's attempts to distract Harry Kane in the build-up to his penalty kick against against Manchester United.
The Red Devils were on the receiving end of a chaotic 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League Group A clash at the Allianz Arena.
The result means Bayern go top of the group after Galatasaray and Copenhagen drew 2-2 earlier on Wednesday. Meanwhile, United are languishing at the bottom of the group after just one game, as things go from bad to worse for Erik ten Hag.
There were plenty of talking points from the game, such as Andre Onana's howler which gifted Bayern an early goal and Harry Kane's controversial penalty. But one moment stood out to fans involving former Tottenham teammates Reguilon and Kane.
Reguilon, who was playing just his second match for United after agreeing a loan move to Old Trafford, approached Kane and started to s***house the Bayern Munich striker in attempt to put him off.
Needless to say, the Spaniard's efforts had little impact on England skipper, who kept his cool from the spot, firing it past Onana.
Spectators were quick to spot his attempts at the dark arts, labelling it a "dismal attempt".
“Reguilon trying his best there to put Kane off from his penalty,” one person tweeted.
“Reguilon trying to s***house Kane,” another added.“Dismal attempt to psych him out,” a third chimed in, while another remarked: “Dirty attempt by Sergio.”
It was an otherwise positive performance from Reguilon, though, who was deemed the one shining light from United's performance.
One fan tweeted: "Never thought I'd say this but Sergio Reguilon has been one of our best players since his debut. He's giving absolutely everything."
Another asked: "Is there a buy option in Reguilon's loan deal?"
"They say don’t fall in love with a loan player but… Sergio Reguilon," a third chimed in.
