The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has flagged a fake account purporting to be that of acting Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdalla Komesha.
Taking to its official Twitter account, NPSC informed members of the public that the Facebook account is fake.
“The National Police Service would like to notify the public that the below Facebook account is fake!” the Commission said.
The only visible posts on the fake Facebook account are those of photos posted on March 22, 2023.
This was just a day after the National Police Service invited applications for the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
NPSC appointed Abdalla Komesha in an acting capacity for 14 days pending the filling of the position.
The position fell vacant after Edward Mbugua retired from the post.
