A motorist was burnt to death on Sunday morning after being involved in a road accident at Pangani tunnel along the Thika Super Highway.
Narrating the 1:30 am incident, a police report noted that the driver, an unknown male aged about 45 years, was headed to Nairobi CBD from Thika when he lost control and hit a pavement wall.
Following the impact of the crash, the car is said to have immediately burst into flames.
Shortly after the driver managed to get out of the car but was overwhelmed by the flames and fell about one meter away from the vehicle.
Nairobi city county fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to put out the fire.
The body of the deceased has been moved to City mortuary while the vehicle was towed to Pangani police station.
