Njeri, who turns out for Kenya Police Bullets FC (formerly Thika Queens) has impressed Beldine Odemba and her technical bench especially with her ball handling skills, and makes the squad that seeks to see Kenya qualify for its second continental showpiece.
Coach Odemba has named a squad of majorly foreign based players, hoping their experience of playing in tougher leagues abroad will help them match up against the tough Cameroonians.
Njeri is one of seven local based players who have made the squad.
Also making the cut to travel is teammate Juliet Auma as well as the Vihiga Queens duo of Janet Bundi Moraa and Phoebe Owiti.
The team left the country for Douala at 7:30am Tuesday, with the game scheduled for Friday.
“We have trained well and I think the girls are ready. We have had almost two weeks in camp and we have worked on several things,” Odemba said.
