Meet the DJI Romo robot vacuum: a game-changer in home cleaning
DJI has officially stepped into the smart home arena with the launch of its first robot vacuum, the DJI Romo. Best known for its drones, DJI brings years of aerial navigation expertise to ground level, creating a robovac that's smarter and more aware of its environment. The DJI Romo robot vacuum, available in three different models, combines precision obstacle detection, customizable cleaning modes, and a futuristic design — making it one of the most advanced robot vacuums of 2025.
Advanced features of the DJI Romo robot vacuum
At the core of the DJI Romo robot vacuum is technology inspired by DJI’s drone line. It uses a combination of binocular fisheye vision and three wide-angle laser sensors to detect and identify household obstacles with incredible accuracy. Thanks to machine learning algorithms, the Romo can navigate around items as thin as 2mm, including charging cables and stray cards. Depending on the detected object, the vacuum intelligently adjusts its cleaning behavior — getting close to furniture legs but avoiding socks or pet messes to prevent entanglement or accidents.
Three unique versions of the DJI Romo robot vacuum
DJI is offering three Romo variants: the Romo S, Romo A, and the premium Romo P. While their core functionality remains the same, the models differ in aesthetics. The Romo P stands out with a fully transparent vacuum and dock, showcasing its internal components in a sleek, high-tech look. The Romo A features a transparent top, while the Romo S opts for a minimalist opaque white design. This variety gives users the flexibility to choose a robovac that matches their home style without compromising performance.
Availability and expectations for the DJI Romo robot vacuum
Initially launched in China, the DJI Romo robot vacuum starts at CNY 4,699 for the S and A models and CNY 6,799 for the transparent Romo P. While global availability is expected later this year, it’s currently unclear if the vacuum will be released in the US or at what price. Still, the anticipation is high, and the Romo’s innovative design, paired with drone-powered navigation, positions it as a strong contender in the competitive robot vacuum market.
