A motor vehicle belonging to Kisumu County Director of Protocol Bob Madanji on Monday went up in flames in Kondele area, Kisumu County.
According to eye witnesses, the vehicle developed a mechanical hitch before bursting into flames beneath the Kondele flyover.
Onlookers swung into action and tried to put out the fire but they were overwhelmed.
The officer and his wife managed to leave the vehicle and stood at a distance watching the vehicle burn.
Members of the public also managed to rescue all the belonging inside the vehicle as Kisumu fire fighters arrived at the scene later when the vehicle had burnt down.
