Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila wants his players to be more clinical in front of goal when TS Galaxy arrive at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Chilli Boys kicked off the DStv Premiership season with a 0-0 draw against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday and created arguably the better chances in Durban, but only managed to hit the target with four of their eight attempts at goal.
New signing Augustine Mulenga passed up the best opportunity of the match when he failed to beat Brandon Petersen with a header in the 28th minute after being picked out by Azola Ntsabo's cross.
Mammila felt Chippa were more than a match for the Glamour Boys and claims his team deserved more than a point in their opener at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
"We created so many chances and we should have buried some of them," he said after the game. "They were lucky to get a point, I'm sorry to say this, but they were lucky to get a point."
The Rockets made a winning start to proceedings, although they left it late to beat Cape Town Spurs 1-0 at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
After Sead Ramovic's side hit the woodwork in the first half and Bernard Parker failed to convert a penalty in the 48th minute, it took an own-goal from Cohen Stander on 86 minutes to hand them all three points.
Galaxy conditioning coach Lehlohonolo Tekane is anticipating a stronger challenge from the Mpumalanga outfit after they fell just short of qualifying for the MTN8 last term.
"We're going to compete this season," Tekane said. "We wanted to reach top eight last season, but we missed with a few points in our last game and I believe this season we are going to do very well.
"The guys are positive, the coach is positive, we're aiming very, very high - even our chairman. I can see the energy is good, everyone around the team is looking good."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Chippa United
Goodman Mosele: The 23-year-old midfielder was handed his debut against Chiefs after joining Chippa on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates and he played the full 90 minutes. Mosele brings with him valuable experience in the top flight and his presence will give the Chilli Boys some much-needed balance in the middle of the park.
TS Galaxy
Orebotse Mongae: The 30-year-old winger had a fantastic game against Cape Town Spurs and was unfortunate not to get his name on the scoresheet when he struck the crossbar from a direct free-kick in the 11th minute before being denied by an outstanding save from Zuma Dlamini on 43 minutes. Mongae became a key member under Ramovic last season, making 25 league appearances and scoring three goals in the process.
