Nancy Cherop and Josphat Kipkirui led a Kenyan 1-2 finish in their respective 1,500m races at the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday night.
Cherop clocked 4:12.38 to set a new championship record, beating compatriot Janet Chepkosgei to second in 4:14.24. England's Lyla Belshow completed the podium in 4:16.37.
Kipkirui set a second championship record of the night after clocking 3:37.66 to clinch gold medal while fellow countryman Andrew Kiptoo settled for silver in 3:38.12.
