A new rule brought in by Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United has led to business "complaining", according to a new report.
Ten Hag is known for being an incredibly strict operator and implemented five rules upon his arrival at Old Trafford last summer, including footballing principles and behavioural regulations.
Jadon Sancho is the latest player to feel the Dutchman's warth and is now being told to train alone on a "personal training programme away from the first-team" amid an ongoing dispute following on from him being left out of the squad for the 3-1 loss to Arsenal prior to the international break.According to the Manchester Evening News, a recent demand of Ten Hag's has been to keep United's players at the Carrington training complex for lunchtime meals.
There is now newly-refurbished canteen at the training ground, where new head chef Omar Meziane, formerly of the FA, is tasked with feeding the first-teamers.
In the past players might have left Carrington in their free time after training is concluded, but they are now sticking around and not leaving until around 2pm after having lunch with their teammates. The players have had no problems with the change but the schedule has had a negative impact on local establishments.Because United stars are eating at the campus, they are no longer turning up at Hale or Alderley Edge restaurants in the daytime.
It's said businesses in Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle' of restaurants have complained at the lack of players dining. The report goes on to add that that promotion of former head of physical performance Ed Leng's to lead sports scientist at the club led to changes to nutritional analysis commencing with the pre-season tour of the United States.
Key alterations include players wearing blood glucose monitors to study their individual nutrition strategy on matchday, as well as sweat patches to keep a track of hydration levels.
