Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has posted a cryptic message on social media after being recalled to the Cameroon squad.
Onana, who moved to United from Inter Milan for £43.8 million, has been capped 34 times by his country and was the number one choice prior to the World Cup in Qatar.
However, he had a row with manager Rigobert Song and decided to retire from international football altogether as a result. The ex-Ajax shotstopper appears to have had a change of heart, however, after Cameroon included him in the squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifying game against Burundi on 12 September. His impending return comes 10 months after his last appearance and Onana has reacted to his return on Instagram.
He posted a picture of flowers, complete with the caption: "Lies give flowers but no fruit."
Onana has played three competitive games for United, keeping a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Wolves.
The 27-year-old could give United a huge blow in the goalkeeping depart as if Cameroon avoid defeat, they will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.
The tournament takes place in Ivory Coast between January 13 and February 11 and United will be in action four times during that period.
They host Spurs, who beat them 2-0 just over a week, at Old Trafford - before taking on Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa.Onana was signed to replace David de Gea and has showcased his impressive distribution.
But United face a situation where they could be without their first-choice goalkeeper for a fairly sizeable period if Cameroon progress.
They are on the verge of bringing in a back-up for Onana, with Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir closing in on a €7 million switch.
Already confirmed by former United midfielder Fred, Bayindir has been in England since Friday and an official announcement is believed to be close.
