Mead played in an in-house training match with the women's youth team on Wednesday as she approaches a return to competitive action.
Arsenal face Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Mead has not played for Arsenal since suffering her ACL injury in November last year, which caused her to miss the 2023 Women's World Cup.While the training match saw Mead playing alongside youth team players rather than the first team, it raises hopes she will soon be able to return for the Gunners.
Arsenal have endured a tough start to the season, losing their opening Women's Super League game to Liverpool having been knocked out of the Women's Champions League by Paris FC in the qualifying stages - in which Mead was an unused sub.
Mead, who was key in England's triumph at Euro 2022 and was subsequently named BBC Sports Personality of the Year, has scored 57 goals in 148 games for Arsenal since 2017 in all competitions.
The 28-year-old helped Arsenal to the 2018-19 WSL title - the last time the Gunners won the league.
In November 2022 she ruptured her ACL in the final minutes of Arsenal's 3-2 WSL defeat at home by Manchester United, and has not played since.
As a result she missed out on the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where England reached the final for the first time but were 1-0
