Bayern Munich were awarded a controversial penalty against Manchester United in the Champions League, with fans slamming the decision.
Harry Kane restored Bayern's two-goal lead following Rasmus Hojlund's strike just after the break when he slotted home a penalty.
But the decision to award the hosts a spot-kick angered Man United fans on social media as they made their feelings known.
From a corner, Dayot Upamecano headed towards goal, with the ball hitting Christian Eriksen's arm as the match referee eventually pointed to the spot following a VAR review.Needless to say, people online fumed over the decision. One X user wrote: "How is that a penalty?? Football is finished."
A second said: "He literally headed it 2 inches away from Eriksen? What’s he meant to do??? We’ve been ROBBED."
A third added: "VAR is a disgrace. The foul on Pellistri was more of a penalty than that. What can the Eriksen do, chop off his arms?"
A fourth commented: "He actually heads it at his arm. Ridiculous decision."
A fifth weighed in: "That is just not a penalty kick. So harsh on Christian Eriksen. Where else could he put his arm in that situation?"
