Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance has resolved to eject Nominated MP Sabina Chege as the Minority Whip.
The decision was made on Thursday during the Azimio Parliamentary Group meeting at Stoni Athi in Machakos County.
The Coalition is however yet to pick her replacement but MPs who spoke to the Star confirmed that her fate is sealed.
Chege's demotion comes just hours after the outfit leader Raila Odinga recommended a change in the law in order to discipline rebellious leaders.
During the meeting on Thursday, Raila proposed that the law be amended to ensure that leaders who decamp after the election do not retain their elective seats.
"Review and recommend changes in the law that will entrench party discipline and fidelity by requiring MPs who cross party lines after elections to seek a fresh mandate from the electorate," Raila said.
Raila also requested that the amendments affect nominated leaders who pledge allegiance to other political parties.
"Initiate legislation to address the electoral, governance and economic gaps identified during the inquiry for consideration by the Houses as appropriate," he added.
These are some of the recommendations to be made during the looming bipartisan talks in Parliament.
In January 2023, Chege pledged her loyalty to the Kenya Kwanza Allaince.
She had visited the State House alongside other leaders.
