Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa scored a sublime solo goal in a pre-season friendly against Brentford.
Villa are taking on Brentford in their final Premier League Summer Series friendly in Maryland, and the US crowd have been treated to an action-packed first half.
The score at half time sees Villa leading 3-2 with Konsa claiming the pick of the goals. The centre back intercepted a pass on the edge of his own box, shrugged off challenges from Frank Onyeka and Kevin Schade who both collapsed to the floor, galloped through the heart of the midfield and arrowed a shot into the top right corner from 18 yards to make the score 2-1.It had been a mixed half for Konsa, who was also responsible for bringing down Schade in the box early into proceedings, with Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo netting the opener from the subsequent penalty.
The Bees' Josh Dasilva also scored a brilliant goal in the first period. The midfielder beat Pau Torres on the edge of the box before curling a shot into the top corner.
Matty Cash and £52million signing Moussa Diaby were also on the scoresheet for Villa.
Fans on Twitter (X) were quick to react to Konsa's outrageous strike.
One said: "This game is full of outstanding goals."
Another said: "Bro was playing Fifa on amateur mode."Many were also deeply critical of Brentford's defending. On Twitter user wrote: "Good goal but a tackle would have a been a decent idea," while another said: "Sunday league defending - close him down!!!"
Unai Emery's side will be crowned winners of the pre-season tournament if they beat Brentford and at least match Chelsea's margin of victory over Fulham.
Mauricio Pochettino's side play at the FedExField later this evening.
