Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham will leave the club next summer, it has been confirmed.
The British-Indian businessman has been in the role since 2020, playing a key role in the squad overhaul overseen under Mikel Arteta's reign in charge.
In a statement to the club's official website, Venkatesham has confirmed that he will be pursuing a new challenge once he leaves his post at Arsenal.
Explaining his decision to step down, he said: "This was a tough decision, but it is time to pursue another challenge.
"Now is not the time for goodbyes as I remain focused until my last day and supporting a seamless transition."
Co-chairman Josh Kroenke added: "Whilst it is business as usual with everyone focused on the season ahead, we'd like to take this moment to thank him for his contribution and long service.
"Vinai will always be part of the Arsenal family and always welcome back at Emirates Stadium."Venkatesham joined Arsenal in 2010, and was the club's managing director from 2018. He assumed the chief executive role two years later.He was in charge of the club's day-to-day operations both on and off the pitch, and has been one of the driving forces behind Arsenal's modern strategies in terms of transfers.
And Kroenke reassured supporters: "Change and succession is something the club is well prepared for.
"The Board remains committed to our strategy and will address leadership change as we continue to drive the club forward."
Alongside his role at Arsenal, Venkatesham is also a non-executive director of the British Olympic Association, and was part of the team that worked on the London 2012 Olympics as commercial manager.
His previous roles at the Gunners include the head of global partnerships, director of global partnerships and business strategy, and sales and marketing director. His first role at the club was as chief commercial officer.
