Athletics Kenya President Jackson Tuwei has been elected as one of the World Athletics (WA) Vice Presidents.
At the WA Congress in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday, Tuwei garnered 104 points to clinch one of the four vice president positions.
Others are former Colombian sprinter, Ximena Restrepo, who got 154 votes, retired Spanish triple jumper Raul Chapado (119), and former Indian sprinter Adille Sumariwalla (115).
Tuwei also serves as the Confederation of Africa Athletics Senior Vice President and President of the Eastern Africa Athletics Region.
He is also a member of the World Athletics Global Calendar Committee.
Back home, he is the chairman of the Sports, Arts, and Social Development Fund.
