13-time Kenya Premier League champions AFC Leopards have been dealt a major as striker Victor Omune has been ruled out of action four four months with a knee injury.
The maverick forward who has been struggling with the injury since last season but played through pain, is set for corrective surgery.
Omune said on social media that he will be out for a while but promised to bounce back stronger following the setback.
“Unfortunately, I’ll miss the start of the season with a knee injury, and I’ll be out for close to 4 months, as the Doctors have said. But I believe I’ll be back better and stronger. Thanks a lot for the love," read his Facebook post.
Omune joined Ingwe from KCB in January 2022 and was an integral member of the Patrick Aussems coached side.
He earned his Harambee Stars first call up and made his debut in March against Iran.
