England captain, Jos Buttler, won the toss and chose to bowl first in their World Cup group match against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
South African captain, Temba Bavuma, was ruled out of the contest due to an overnight illness with Aiden Markram taking over the captaincy and Reeza Hendricks taking his place at the top of the order.
England have made three changes to the team which lost by 69-runs to Afghanistan with allrounders Sam Curran, Chris Woakes and Liam Livinstone all omitted in favour of fast bowler Gus Atkinson, batsman Ben Stokes and allrounder David Willey.
South Africa also lost their game to underdogs the Netherlands and, although neither team will be mathematically ruled out of semifinal contention with defeat today, the contest has a definite ‘must win’ atmosphere to it.
