A clip of Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante doing fitness drills compared to their new Al Ittihad teammates has gone viral online.
The pair of France internationals have both joined the Saudi Pro League champions and are among the highest-paid players in the Middle East.Al Ittihad, managed by former Wolves and Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo, have also strengthened with the signing of Celtic star Jota and our now poised to confirm the £40 million capture of Fabinho from Liverpool on a three-year deal.
But a viral video shows the difference between the elite level players and the rest of the park and has garnered plenty of reaction online.
Al Ittihad took part in a number of fitness drills in pre-season as they prepare for the defence of their title this season.Benzema and Kante's form throughout was flawless and shows why they have both achieved such success in the game.
Their feet remained flat, with their ankles not raised as every motion was seamless, but a second clip featuring colleagues Romarinho and Igor Coronado was a bit clunky.
Granted the drill itself was slightly different and featured a tussle between players, the footwork looked a little messy and caused many fans to weigh in.
One wrote: "Looool getting paid almost a mill a week to play in a farmer’s league was always coming at a cost."
A second opined: "The level of football is sooo different man."
A third wrote: "Lol they need to sign me up too."Al Ittihad were in action on Sunday, defeating CS Sfaxien 1-0 in Arab Club Champions Cup. Benzema struck his second goal in as many games after bagging a beauty on his debut.
They return to action against Al Shorta in the final group stage fixture on Wednesday.
