Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) is a State Corporation operating under the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry.
Its primary responsibility, as defined by the Industrial Property Act, No. 3 of 2001, and the Trade Marks Act, Cap 506, is to promote inventive and innovative activities.
KIPI facilitates the acquisition of technology by regulating and registering patents, utility models, technovations, industrial designs, and trade marks.
The Institute’s key functions are as follows:
(a) Evaluating applications and granting registration for industrial property rights.
(b) Assessing technology transfer agreements and licenses.
(c) Providing the public with industrial property information to foster technological and economic development.
(d) Encouraging inventiveness and innovativeness within Kenya.
(e) Organizing and conducting training, competitions, and awards related to industrial property matters.
In alignment with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformational Agenda (BETA), KIPI is seeking to recruit dynamic, result-oriented, and self-driven individuals for the position of Senior Clerical Officer (Grade KP ‘8’). This position is permanent and pensionable, with a competitive remuneration package, including basic salary, house allowance, commuter allowance, medical cover, and other benefits outlined in KIPI’s Human Resource Manual.
