Position Summary.
As an Agronomy Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the agronomy audit process within the organization. You will lead a team of farm coordinators and collaborate with various stakeholders to assess and evaluate agronomy practices, compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal standards. Your role will involve conducting research and field checks, taking samples, and making observations, damage from insects, weather or climatic changes, or the use of specialized products, pesticides, and fertilizer to help growers develop techniques to increase crop quality and yield.
He/she shall be expected to be focused on developing and promoting better farming practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will be expected in addition to other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
- Visit the farms daily to see the condition on the ground – carry our internal self-audits.
- Check and verify crop protection and nutrition programs for Ngong farms.
- Compile and hold all growing records.
- Planting confirmation – Monitor and confirm planting programs based on the net volumes required.
- Crop Monitoring report – Scorecard about how well the crops are doing.
- Block analysis – The yield per block.
- Quality Manual – Control the Growers manual – updating for each season.
- Farm input Data Sheet – compile the information from growers for all farms.
- Spray Records and Plan– Check all information from farms.
- Coordinating trials for new input production, crop varieties; technologies, research for better new production systems, etc.
- Promote and maintain ethical and professional standards in line with company staff regulations, ETI, and other codes of conducts to enhance worker welfare.
- Health and Safety – Ensure all duties are performed safely and responsibly in consideration of Environmental, Health, and Safety Company policies.
- Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by their manager from time to time.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
The following qualifications, knowledge, and experience are required of an employee in this role.
- A bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience may be preferred.
- Demonstrate PR and interpersonal skills, leadership skills, supervisory skills, and strategic planning.
- Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
- Proficiency with computers, especially, MS Office.
- Strong research, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Must be able to manage flexible hours as required including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to prioritize, change/complete tasks according to time-sensitive deadlines.
