The incumbent is one of two truck drivers who transports Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) mail. Responsibilities also include vehicle maintenance, loading and off-loading vehicles, and assisting the mailroom. Supervision for this position is provided by the DPO Supervisor. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of two years’ experience driving heavy transport trucks.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must know Kenyan traffic laws and be familiar with traffic patterns in and around Nairobi. Must be knowledgeable about vehicle operation and maintenance procedures. Must know procedures for responding to vehicle emergencies, including radio procedures.Education Requirements:

Level III (Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in both English and Kiswahili.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A valid Kenyan commercial driver’s license, Class B, C, E is required. Driving skills will be tested prior to final selection. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to lift 70 pounds. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
