POSITION SUMMARY

As a Food & Beverage Technician specializing in Audio Visual/IT at JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional event experiences by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting all AV, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment. Your expertise will ensure flawless audiovisual presentations, lighting ambiance, and technical support for meetings, banquets, and events. By overseeing the installation and maintenance of AV equipment in various event spaces, you will contribute to the seamless execution of high-quality events.

You will be responsible for ensuring all AV equipment is fully operational, promptly addressing any technical issues, and performing necessary repairs or cleaning. By meticulously labeling and reporting any broken equipment, you will ensure a smooth workflow and facilitate timely replacements. Additionally, you will secure loose wires and cables to ensure a safe environment for guests and colleagues.

As an AV technician, you will take pride in your role as a technology ambassador. You will provide personalized assistance and detailed instructions to guests, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable using the AV equipment. By understanding their specific needs, you will have the opportunity to upsell additional AV services, enhancing their overall experience. Monitoring equipment functionality throughout events will be critical to maintaining a seamless flow, promptly resolving any technical glitches, and ensuring uninterrupted presentations.

Adhering to quality assurance standards, you will consistently deliver high-quality AV services. Physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, will be required. Your keen eye for detail will be essential for visually inspecting tools, equipment, and machines, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
