Product Development Manager – Transactional Banking

Reporting to Assistant General Manager – Transaction Banking, the role holder will lead the ideation, conceptualization, implementation, management and enhancement of Transaction Banking Products, initiatives, and projects.

They will manage the performance of Transaction Banking products through its lifecycle whilst ensuring that customer value and ROI are optimized as well as support in acquisition of New to bank Clients and Retention and growth of Existing ones.

Primary responsibilities:

• Lead on Cash management product conceptualization, business case documentation, development, testing, packaging and roll-out in conjunction with the various stakeholders.
• Effectively determine Transaction Banking product strategy and pricing to expand market share and ROI.
• Responsible and accountable for product benefit realization for all products implemented.
• Work with ICT, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the functionalities of the products are as per the required specifications before release to the market.
• Ensure 100% adherence with bank policy on product documentation and processes to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance, and cost containment.
• Conduct reviews of existing functionalities to ensure end to end process are functioning adequately.
• Establish and maintain strategic & mutually benefiting partnerships with key players like FinTech, Regulators and customers and lead in contract negotiation.
• Contribute to the overall growth of customer base for the bank through / jointly with internal and external service providers to ensure that product gaps that impair the client value propositions are addressed timely.
• Develop and support the launching of new initiatives, products, developing enhancements and new product concepts.
• Provide input to stakeholders on customer implementation progress for projects or solutions being rolled out.
• Provide product portfolio analysis and ensure product utilization and volume tracking of all customers across the segments.
• Keep abreast of MIS and Key Performance Indicators for all Corporate, Commercial, Business Banking and SME portfolio and increase utilization.
• Provide MIS of customer transaction behavior and metrics on progress of deals managed.
• Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims.
• Conduct regular product portfolio reviews to identify areas of improvement and develop tactical plans towards achieving set risk and compliance criteria.
• Review, evaluate and manage product risks to ensure strict adherence to the bank’s framework and wider industry regulations.
• Offer product training to staff across the bank.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or Information Technology related field.
• 5+ years banking or Fintech experience or equivalent.
• Experience in usage of advanced analytics tools including advanced Excel, Power BI, VBA, SQL, Python, R and other data analysis tools.
• Accounting or IT course and experience will be an added advantage.
