About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to build upon our existing relationships, develop new channels of business and grow our student enrolment, especially in the boarding house and revenue. The BDO will be reporting to the Headmaster.
Main Responsibilities:
- Mapping out yearly growth plans, setting milestones and strategies for student enrolment and revenue targets.
- Researching and identifying new business opportunities through effective prospecting and market research.
- Creating and presenting dynamic, engaging pitches and proposals/strategies to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for consideration.
- Developing a strong, ongoing understanding of market trends, education industry developments and competitor activity both locally and internationally.
- In liaison with the Human Resource Manager (HR Manager), closely monitor the performance of support staff and provide regular reports and relevant data to SLT.
- Working closely with the service delivery team to ensure client satisfaction in order to maximize retention figures.
- Oversee the development and printing of all marketing materials aimed at creating and increasing awareness.
- Oversee the management of the School’s website and social media channels including engagement, posting and analytics.
- In liaison with the Estate Supervisor, ensure the school grounds and buildings are well maintained as per the laid down standards.
- In liaison with the various departments and the Co-Curricular Coordinator, manage the school events.
- Overseeing the school’s Alumni Programme in liaison with the Alumni Coordinator.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Public Relations, Communication, or any relevant field.
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role in a learning institution.
- Strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and competency in business development.
- A good understanding of the international education sector in Kenya.
- Demonstrate experience in growing client base.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and relationship-building abilities.
