POSITION: ASSISTANT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – EMBU BRANCH
Main Role
Reporting to the Head of Business Development & Marketing, the Assistant Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating revenue for the Branch and company within the assigned markets or channels as well as Building and managing strong relationships and partnerships within the assigned markets or channels.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in sourcing and procuring new business in line with organizational targets.
• Help in facilitating business quotations by liaising with the underwriting department and
• Assist in providing competitive quotations to prospects.
• Help in recruiting credible brokers, agencies, and banks to partner with the organization
• Assist in training and supporting intermediaries concerning the organization’s products.
• Ensure renewal of existing accounts to improve business retention
• Help in the preparation of tender documents and submission in line with the tender requirements
• Assist in the introduction of new products and promoting them through regular visits and frequent communication with intermediaries, existing clients, and prospects.
• Help deliver excellent customer service by promptly handling client queries and complaints.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining regular contact with current and prospective clients
• Assist in providing timely, up-to-date information and reports to management regarding the status of the business development initiatives in terms of execution.
• Assist in collecting and presenting relevant market intelligence to possibly enhance internal competitive advantages to the extent possible.
Minimum Academic Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent
• Progress in Dip in Insurance or ACII
• At least three (3) years of work experience in sales management, preferably in life Insurance with demonstrated team management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• A high degree of maturity and self-drive;
• Capacity to build business relationships and drive sales;
• Appropriate leadership and communication skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Results Driven and conscious on keeping deadlines.
