DRIVER
Reporting to the Transport Supervisor and responsible for attending to all driving duties as required by the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending to driving requests.
- Ensuring proper Maintenance of assigned vehicles.
- Regular cleaning of assigned vehicles.
- Ensuring security of assigned vehicles.
- Ensuring insurance and all other paperwork for assigned vehicles are in order.
- Ensuring work tickets of assigned vehicles are signed; and
- Observing all traffic rules while driving assigned.
Qualifications /Educational /Professional /Experience
- Valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive.
- Passed the Occupational Trade Test III / II / I for Drivers.
- Defensive driving certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Diploma in Fleet Management / Motor-vehicle Engineering.
- Proficiency in Computer Applications.
- Computer skills.
- Previous experience in a learning institution.

- Good organizational skills with multi-tasking ability from experience of handling a busy office.
- Basic accounting skills

PAINTER
Reporting to the Clerks of Works, the position holder will be responsible for supporting with all the painting works within the university.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth.
- Carry out weekly routine inspections on buildings to facilitate painting.
- Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps.
- Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches.
- Mix and match paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications.
- Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
- Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers.
- Keep log of job cards to track response times and material use.
- Estimating time and material costs on painting projects.
- Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
- Any other Job as may be instructed by the Maintenance Officer.

Qualifications /Educational/Professional/experience)
- Government Trade Certificate I (Painter).
- Served as a Painter for a minimum of 2 years.
- Knowledge and Experience of both Industrial and Domestic and Commercial Painting.
- The applicant must be a team builder with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
