Dedan Kimathi University of Technology with support from Arm Limited, a world leading semiconductor and software Design Company, is seeking suitable candidates to apply for a scholarship to study for an Msc in Telecommunication Engineering with a focus on machine learning and signal processing applications. Successful candidates will be affiliated to the Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAIL) as research interns where they will also conduct research as part of their duties.
Responsibility
In addition to their studies, the Msc student shall be expected to work for 20 hours per week on average. Specific duties are as follows;
i. Develop methodology leveraging drone data for forest health monitoring in reforested stands.
ii. Develop methodology for anomaly detection in sensor data
iii. Development of a bat call library for Kenyan bats to enable survey of bat species for ecosystem monitoring using appropriate signal processing and machine learning techniques.
iv. Any other duty that may be assigned by a senior officer.
