ARMFA is a non-political and a non-profit making Association that was founded on 18 December 2003 in Libreville, Gabon. This followed the recommendation of the Consultative meeting of the Road Maintenance Funds held in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 27th to 28th March 2003 concerning the establishment of the same. ARMFA’s main objective is to form a platform and a network for experience and information sharing on best road maintenance practices in Africa; to discuss and find opportunities on funding options; to promote and strengthen links between members of African Roads Funds, so that Road Funds achieve sustainability in funding and functions. The
ARMFA Secretariat is currently located in Nairobi Kenya.
ARMFA seeks to recruit dynamic, experienced and results-oriented persons to the positions of:
Job Purpose
The jobholder is responsible for driving assigned motor vehicle, routine checks and maintenance of work tickets, detect and report malfunction of vehicle systems, carry authorized passengers and goods for smooth running of services in the institution. The position is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is in good order and to ensure safety and smooth mobility of employees of the Board.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:
i. Driving the Executive Secretary as authorized;
ii. Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
iii. Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
iv. Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
v. Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles;
vi. Overseeing transport management;
vii. Preparing and submitting reports on transport when need arises;
viii. Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods therein.
Person Specifications For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
i. At least served in the grade of Driver for at least eight (8) years; three (3) of which must have been at the level of Senior driver or its equivalent;
ii. At least a mean grade D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
iii. Occupational Trade Test III Certificate;
iv. A valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
v. Certificate in a supervisory course from a recognized institution;
vi. Certificate in Partners Care from a recognized institution;
vii. A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
viii. A Certificate of Good Conduct (renewable after two (2) years);
ix. A First Aid Certificate course from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution not more than one (1) year old;
x. Computer proficiency certificate;
xi. An accident-free driving period of ten (10) years;
xii. Fulfilled the requirements of charters.

Terms of Service:
The positions are for a one (1) year contract period, renewable upon satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package, including house allowance, medical benefits, gratuity and other benefits in accordance with the provisions of the Association.
