Parklands Sports Club is a Private Members Club in Nairobi, looking to hire dynamic and customer- oriented individuals in the following positions;
EXECUTIVE HOUSE KEEPER
Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Housekeeper’s key role will be to oversee all Housekeeping and Laundry operations to deliver an excellent Member and Guest experience and hence provide the highest levels of comfort and hospitality to members, guests and employees, leading to the stakeholders’ satisfaction and Club profitability.
Duties;
- Create standard operating procedures for Housekeeping, Reception and Laundry operations, keeping in line with the Clubs’ service standards and culture.
- Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to the employees allocated to the department.
- Conduct quality control inspections of all areas of the club and share results with the team.
- Review the budget, oversee market plans to improve sales and bookings.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to maintain areas of the club to the highest standards and assist in scheduling periodic property maintenance followed by spring-cleaning.
- Manage all outside contractors relating to the department ensuring that they follow all club policies.
- Maintain highest standards and quality of services in Housekeeping & Laundry operations to meet and exceed members and guests’ expectation while managing operational costs within budgets.
Requirements;
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality or Hotel Management from a certified and recognized Institution.
- Computer literate, hotel system and material controls knowledge.
- Health, Safety and Security policies and procedure knowledge and training.
- Proven work experience of 8 years in a 5 or 4 star establishment in a similar position with at least 4 years in a senior position.
- Solid understanding of Housekeeping and Laundry supplies and par stock levels.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Financial and budget formulation & presentation knowledge.
MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Reporting to the Sports & Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Manager will oversee all installation, repair and upkeep of the Club’s facilities which involves plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry and other works
Duties;
- Create a maintenance plan/schedule for the Club’s equipment.
- Establish maintenance policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the maintenance team carries out quality maintenance of plant and equipment in the Club.
- Conduct preventive tests and maintenance as well as corrective maintenance when there is a break down, keeping a record of the same while ensuring that there is minimal downtime and ensuring the Club complies with safety regulations while maintenance takes place.
- Is in charge of the maintenance budget, monitoring equipment inventory and placing orders where necessary.
- Manage relationships with contractors, service providers and government/regulatory bodies
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities while maintaining maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
- Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required.
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with in the operations in the club as well as in any maintenance activities.
Requirements;
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma/ Higher diploma in engineering, administration or facility management.
- Proven work experience of 8 years in a similar role with at least 4 years in a senior role.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity in drafting and understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Effective communication and people management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Membership in a relevant body will be an added advantage.
DRIVER
Reporting to the Administrator, the driver will be responsible for operating the Club’s vehicles in a safe and effective manner in compliance with Kenya Traffic Act CAP 403.
Duties;
- Drive the Club’s motor vehicles as authorized, ensure that the vehicle assigned is always in a good operating condition, maintain the work ticket for the vehicle assigned and keep operational records.
- Operate the Club’s vehicle in a safe and effective manner in compliance with traffic laws so as to minimize the risk of injury or loss of life.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle assigned as well as detect and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Monitor and report the vehicle service and insurance schedule, ensure timely reporting of accidents/incidents and follow up on police abstract.
- Undertake safety checks and measures as per the human resource policy to determine the road worthiness of the vehicle, ensure the security and safety of the vehicle, passengers, and goods therein while on and off the road.
- Prepare periodic vehicle performance reports as required and fuel the vehicles on time.
Requirements;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade of C- (minus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement.
- PSV/Institutional drivers badge.
- First Aid Certificate.
- At least eight (8) years relevant work experience.
- Trade Test for Drivers will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Nairobi roads will be an added advantage.
HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Reporting to the Human Resources & Administration Manager, the Human Resource Officer will play a pivotal role in a broad spectrum of HR Responsibilities – including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding & off boarding, benefits administration, compliance, fostering a performance culture, enhancing engagement as well as enforcing company policies and procedures.
Duties;
- Staff recruitment & Contract Management – facilitate and assist the HR Manager in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members (formulation or update of job descriptions, advertising, screening, coordination of interviews, reference checks, drafting contracts, ensuring proper documentation is received and filed).
- Employee Onboarding and Off boarding – collaborate with the HR Manager to establish a check in schedule for new hires, coordinate onboarding schedules for new team members and off boarding schedules for leavers, while ensuring that there new hires are provided with the necessary work tools including the HRMIS access while ensuring that the onboarding/off boarding policies are implemented.
- HR administration and Benefits – together with the HR Manager, ensure compliance in the HR department, organize and manage employee personnel files (and ensure completeness) along with any other HR and administrative documents, track and administer employee benefits – insurance, ensure that leave schedules for each department are created and followed, all annual leave travelling allowances are paid and that all leave records are always up to date and assist in planning and coordinating HR events.
- Culture and engagement – partner with the HR Manager to enhance a performance based culture (including performance management cycle administration) as well as enhanced employee engagement while ensuring a positive overall experience for the employees.
- Discipline and grievance management – be part of the discipline and grievance committee.
Requirements;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with 3 years of directly working in a human resource department.
- Member of the institute of Human Resource Management (in good standing).
- Thorough knowledge of the Kenyan Labour Laws, HR Functions and best practices.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Some experience working in a startup will be an added advantage.
