Liverpool fans have spotted an incident between Jordan Pickford and an official during Everton’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.
On Sunday afternoon, Everton were looking for their first victory of the 23/24 season as they hosted Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Arsenal dominated the majority of the first half as Everton stood firm to absorb the pressure.
Gabriel Martinelli had a go controversially ruled out by VAR after Eddie Nketiah was adjudged to be offside during the build-up.During the first half, Liverpool fans have spotted an incident between Pickford and an official.
A video appears to show Pickford directing foul language towards a linesman.
According to fans on social media, Pickford said: “You f**king p***k, f**k off!”
This incident has led to Liverpool fans demanding the Football Association take action against Pickford after Reds captain Virgil van Dijk was handed an extra match’s ban for ‘abuse’ towards the official.
One fan said: "Another £100,000 fine and a 1 match ban incoming for Jordan Pickford. Isn’t that right @FA
@FA_PGMOL?"After audio from Van Dijk’s incident was released, it was spotted that the Liverpool defender said ‘f**king joke’ towards the referee.A statement from the FA read: “Virgil van Dijk has been charged with a breach of FA rule E3.1 following Liverpool's Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday, 27 August.”At the time, former Premier League referee, Mike Dean, said: “Van Dijk disagreed as he unleashed a verbal volley on fourth official Craig Pawson, which was out of line.
“Depending on what is written in the referee’s report, Van Dijk may find himself in further trouble with the football authorities.”
