Manchester United shirts with Rasmus Hojlund's name on the back have only just gone on sale despite the Dane signing over a month ago.
United agreed a £75 million deal to sign Hojlund from Atalanta on 29 July and he was announced as a new signing on 5 August.
Hojlund, who penned a five-year contract, has taken on the No.11 shirt and made his debut as a substitute in the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on 4 September.But according to a new report from Mike Keegan in the Daily Mail, United have only just started selling his jerseys.
That's because the megastore at Old Trafford did not have letter the letter 'ø’ in stock.
The 20-year-old's surname is spelt with the letter and is therefore displayed on the back of his shirt in the same way as Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.Fans have been not been happy with United as a result, with one left frustrated when they went to buy a Hojlund shirt as a gift for a relative.
"It’s incompetence," the fan commented.
"The big summer signing and you still can’t get a shirt with his name on it because nobody saw fit to get the Danish ‘ø'.
“It's indicative of a business that is a shambles even in the most basic ways."United fans couldn't buy the shirt as late as Friday despite having been told an update was coming two days earlier on Wednesday.
The club say the ø's arrived in Premier League font on Thursday and are now on sale, with fairly popular demand expected.
The letter ø is not the same as the "O" in the English language and the vowel is pronounced slightly differently.
Having made his United bow with an impressive cameo last time out, Hojlund has been on international duty with Denmark and he and teammate Christian Eriksen helped Kasper Hjulmand's side secure a huge win over Finland in a bid to qualify for the Euros.
