The Safaricom app seeks to enable devolved units to centralize services through digitization.
Machakos was the first county to take up the program last year during its pilot phase.
The new signees include Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Samburu, Bomet, Narok, Kitui, Busia, Kilifi, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Kajiado.
Digitizing devolution is a collaborative agenda bringing together the public and private sectors to serve all Kenyans.
“With guidance from the leadership of various counties, Safaricom is integrating the MyCounty App channels to the various systems,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom, during the ongoing Devolution Conference in Eldoret.
Safaricom also signed an MoU with the Council of Governors (CoG) to collaborate on IT security and related cyber security guidelines, its own source of revenue, strengthening knowledge management through the Maarifa Centre, CSR activities, and capacity building, among other areas of collaboration.
“This MoU represents more than just a partnership, it symbolizes a shared vision for a better tomorrow. By embracing collaboration, we are not just creating pathways for progress; we are building bridges that will allow us to overcome challenges together,” added Ndegwa.
