Manchester United have opened their Premier League campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Erik ten Hag's men have struggled.
After ending their long trophy drought last term, Ten Hag’s side are confident of challenging for more silverware once more having invested in some big-money purchases over the summer.
While £72million signing Rasmus Hojlund is unavailable through injury for the Premier League opener, Andre Onana and Mason Mount have both made their competitive debuts at Old Trafford.
But the first half has been dismal from a United perspective and widely criticised by fans on Twitter (X).
One person wrote: "Man U are bang average. Every time they play, they get overworked and somehow manage to scrape a goal and win - average team".
Another said: "UTD are struggling."
A third person said: "Manchester United v Wolves 40 minutes in and what a bore draw this is, 1 shot on target, dreadful…"
A fourth wrote: "I can’t believe how people thing that Man U will finish top 4! Mark my words they are not going to make it!"
A fifth person said: "How bad are United. Garnacho is stealing money."A sixth added: "What a terrible opening 25 minutes by Manchester United. Some players look half asleep!"
However, Wolves' performance has also been praised, with the club having looked a threat on the break.
Wolves have endured a tumultuous few days, with Julen Lopetegui having stepped down as manager last week and been replaced by former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil.Many have tipped the Molineux club to be among the relegation places this term after such a difficult summer and lack of signings.
However, they put in a spirited first half against United that impressed the fans and pundits alike.
Indeed, Gary Lineker wrote on Twitter: "Very impressed with Wolves in the first 30 minutes. Should never have tipped them to go down."
Another person said: "O’Neil is gonna be brilliant for them."
A third Manchester City fan cheekily added: "They playing a poor team tonight so can’t judge Wolves on this."
