Role Overview:
A fast-growing manufacturing firm is looking for a hands-on Cost Accountant to oversee product costing, inventory valuation and cost analysis. The successful candidate will provide actionable cost insights to support pricing, production decisions and margin improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Standard Cost Maintenance: Establish and maintain standard costs for finished goods and raw materials, ensuring they reflect current production realities.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct regular variance analysis for material, labour and overhead; investigate causes and present clear explanations to management.
• Month-End Support: Contribute to the monthly close by preparing accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) entries and inventory valuations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production and supply chain teams to monitor cost drivers and highlight areas for efficiency gains.
• Profitability & Margin Analysis: Analyse product-level margins and profitability trends and recommend cost optimisation measures.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts from a cost perspective and provide commentary on variances.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline costing processes and improve inventory control and reporting accuracy.
