Job Overview
Brightermonday is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting our financial decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, auditing, or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
