Job Description
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Political Science, Data Science, Information Management, or any related discipline.
- Proven experience in qualitative coding and policy content analysis using software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, MAXQDA, or equivalent tools.
- Strong ability to interpret, categorize, and synthesize complex policy documents, legislative texts, and strategic frameworks across multiple sectors
- Familiarity with AI-assisted text analysis tools or demonstrated willingness to learn and apply machine-assisted policy analysis systems such as PolicyLens AI.
- Understanding of policy ecosystems and governance structures in Africa; knowledge of domains such as climate change, digital transformation, public health, or resilience will be an added advantage.
- Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to data integrity and confidentiality, and ability to ensure high-quality outputs under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary research teams, adapt to evolving analytical frameworks, and contribute to iterative model improvement and evidence translation processes.
Job Description (responsibilities):
- Collect, review, and organize national, regional, and global policy documents, legislative texts, strategies, and frameworks across multiple disciplines, including health, environment, education, technology, and governance.
- Contribute to the design, testing, and refinement of standardized coding frameworks and taxonomies aligned with diverse project objectives and thematic areas.
- Conduct systematic coding and annotation of policy content using PolicyLens AI platform comparing it to other qualitative analysis tools e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti, MAXQDA.
- Engage with the PolicyLens AI research and technical teams to improve model accuracy through feedback loops and data annotation refinement.
- Review, validate, and cross-check AI-generated outputs to ensure conceptual accuracy, contextual relevance, and consistency across datasets from different policy domains.
- Identify emerging policy themes, gaps, and trends; generate insights to inform cross-sectoral policy discussions and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in regular review meetings, capacity-building sessions, and cross-project collaborations to ensure alignment of coding activities with institutional goals and evolving policy priorities.
- Maintain strict data confidentiality, ensure adherence to ethical standards, and document all coding procedures for auditability and reproducibility.
