Job Description
  • Designing and consulting on the structure of the knowledge product and capacity building
  • Development of the knowledge product and capacity building materials (slides, case studies, videos, supporting materials, etc)
  • Delivery of the capacity development through a series of webinars, training workshops or similar forums:
  • Should be in both Spanish and English
  • Should be guided by the ACCESS capacity development guide and scope of the knowledge and learning platform.
  • Should incorporate feedback from UNEP and ACCESS consortium partners
  • Can be delivered in online and hybrid formats
  • This will be done in the following stages
  • Phase 1 - Scoping & Focus Setting: Define objectives, identify target audiences, prepare an initial list of potential topics, consult stakeholders, and agree on final focus using clear selection criteria. 2. Phase 2 – Evidence Gathering: Conduct literature review, compile existing data, and gather new evidence or case studies through interviews, surveys, or project monitoring.
  • Phase 3 - Analysis & Drafting: Synthesize findings, identify trends and gaps, develop recommendations/frameworks, and prepare first draft of the knowledge product.
  • Phase 4 - Validation & Refinement: Organise peer review process, collect and integrate feedback, and adjust content, structure, and language accordingly.
  • Phase 5 - Finalisation & Dissemination: Finalise text, translation into Spanish, work with designers and implement dissemination plan (launch events, webinars, targeted outreach). Activity 3: In consultation with UNEP and ACCESS consortium partners, provide technical expertise to mainstream practical gender, equity, and intersectionality into the ACCESS project (4 output areas) through: development and guidance on and peer review of ACCESS activities and outputs (e.g., reports, toolkits, guidelines, pilot project documentation), identification of project synergies and replication potential, review and updating of the ACCESS project MEL framework and tracking and reporting.
  • Sharing of expertise and insights through ACCESS forums such as working groups, output meetings, steering committee, community of practice, etc.

Qualifications/special skills

  • An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in gender studies, equity studies, sustainable transport, digitalization, urban planning, or related fields is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in sustainable transport with clear focus on gender, equity, intersectionality and leave no one behind approaches is required.
  • Experience in developing knowledge products is required
  • Experience in designing and delivering capacity building /training is required;
  • Monitoring and evaluation experience are required;
  • Working in Latin America (must be based in one of these 7 countries: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, or Panama) is required;
  • Experience working with international organizations, national or city governments is required;
  • Experience working with civil society, NGO’s and academia is required;
  • Experience undertaking research and data collection is required;
  • Stakeholder consultation experience is required;
  • Working in a project delivery environment is required;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication is required;
  • Experience working in the field of transport digitisation is desirable;
  • Experience working in a project set up with a consortium of organizations is desirable;
