Job Duties and Responsibilities
° Programme coordination (Food and Nutrition Resilience Programme)
° Working with National Societies, Cluster delegations, AU representation and regional management, technical and SPRM colleagues to implement the donor engagement strategy for the regional/country FNRP Programme
° Working with AU office to support ongoing AU/IFRC Technical Working Group actions and coordinate with other IFRC multilateral representations.
° Support development of regional/country Programme Management Unit and Pooled Fund platforms.
° Work with country teams to identify and spotlight promising practices and success stories across IFRC-supported food security, resilience, and livelihoods programs.
° Partnership Engagement and Resource Mobilization Fundraising Support
° Develop and follow a resource mobilisation plan for zero hunger including FNRP
° Identify donor opportunities and coordinate with the Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (SPRM) team to position the campaign with existing and prospective funders.
° Engage with donors to pitch zero hunger including FNRP at regional levels, and support the four Horn of Africa countries with their resource mobilisation and partnership efforts
° Draft concept notes, proposals, marketing materials, investment cases, and campaign updates for donors.
° Organize events, donor field visits, and virtual briefings to drive fundraising and visibility.
° Track resource mobilisation engagements at global, regional, and country levels and ensure coordinated follow up
° Track and report on campaign impact for donor reporting and stewardship.
° Support National Societies with domestic fundraising efforts including digital, direct marketing and private sector engagement
Campaign Strategy & Communications
° Drive day-to-day implementation of the Zero Hunger campaign in line with the overarching programmatic, fundraising and communications plans.
° In coordination with the communication team and the external communication agency support develop high-impact, multi-channel content (print, digital, video) including digital toolkits that tell the story of durable solution for hunger reduction in Africa.
° Coordinate across National Societies, Clusters, and the IFRC technical teams to ensure coherence and alignment.
° Lead multi-country rollouts and ensure visibility for flagship initiatives that are African-led and have durable solutions.
° Ensure campaign messaging reflects community-driven approaches and is grounded in field realities.
° Support field teams with technical advice and creative inputs for local activations and adaptation of the campaign toolkit.
Monitoring and Evaluation
° Establish campaign monitoring tools to track reach, impact, and audience engagement.
° Coordinate learning sessions to document what works and informs adaptation in subsequent phases.
° Provide regular internal updates and progress reports to leadership and regional teams.
Education
° University degree in journalism, communications, marketing or international policies (Required)
° IFRC Emergency Communications training (Preferred)
° Basic Delegated Training Course or IMPACT. FACT, ERU or RDRT Training or equivalent experience (Preferred)
Experience
° At least 7 years of experience managing large-scale communications or advocacy campaigns in humanitarian or development contexts (Required)
° Experience in program implementation, preferably in food security, resilience, or livelihoods. (Required)
° Proven fundraising or donor engagement experience — strong writing, storytelling, and proposal development skills. (Required)
° Experience working with multi-stakeholder partnerships, government entities, and media. (Required)
° Red Cross and Red Crescent experience (Preferred)
