° The Legal & Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that AA Kenya conducts its operations in strict compliance with all applicable laws, financial regulations, and established standards of corporate governance. This position is essential in upholding the organization’s integrity and legal standing, providing guidance and counsel to support the highest levels of governance and operational conduct.
Key Performance Areas
° Regulatory and Operational Compliance: Oversee and ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements relevant to AA Kenya’s business operations.
° Reporting on Legal and Corporate Governance Matters: Prepare and present detailed reports on legal issues and corporate governance to management and relevant stakeholders.
° Engagement with Investors, Stakeholders, and Other Third Parties: Act as a liaison, maintaining open and effective communication with investors, stakeholders, and external parties on legal and compliance matters.
° Legal Counsel to the Board and Executive Committee: Provide expert legal advice to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, supporting their decision-making processes.
° Litigation Management: Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation involving AA Kenya, ensuring the organization’s interests are effectively represented and protected.
Minimum Job Requirements
° Bachelor’s degree in law or a Postgraduate Diploma in Law
° Membership in the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing
° Certified Public Secretary will be an added advantage
° At least three years of legal experience, with a minimum of two years in a similar role
° Experience in corporate, commercial, and employment law
