Job Description

Purpose:

The Assistant Manager, Operational Risk, is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of the operational risk management framework. The role involves conducting risk assessments, tracking key risk indicators, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with business units to enhance risk awareness and mitigate operational risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the operational risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, root cause analysis, and control effectiveness reviews.
  • Monitor and report operational risk events, incidents, and key risk indicators (KRIs).
  • Support business units in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks.
  • Assist in the development and execution of risk control self-assessments (RCSA).
  • Track and report operational loss events and ensure timely resolution of risk issues.
  • Support the business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk management requirements.
  • Assist in risk training and awareness programs to enhance the Bank’s risk culture.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and other risk functions to strengthen controls.

Qualifications

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CRISC, FRR,FRM, PRM, or ORM are an added advantage.
  •  At least 3-5 years of experience in operational risk management, internal audit, or compliance.
  •  Knowledge of risk management frameworks such as Basel II/III, COSO, and ISO 31000.
  • Experience with risk control self-assessment (RCSA), incident management, and business continuity planning.
