Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment and selection process - preparing all paperwork and providing support for interviews, selection, suitability assessments, reference checks, background checks, etc.
- Ensuring staff are properly onboarded by preparing and overseeing the execution of a thorough induction process.
- Creating and managing an effective performance management framework, that drives productivity, rewards great performance, and defines and executes consequence management in the form of Performance Improvement Plans, separations, etc.
- Manages career development interventions for all staff in the form of training, coaching, career movements, succession planning, etc.
- Manages Reward and remuneration policies of the Company through advice to Management on reward matters. Day-to-day management of payroll changes
- Attends to the daily HR issues that are brought up by staff e.g. update of records, referral letters, individual and collective grievances, disciplinary matters, and other welfare issues.
- Together with the Head of Production provide guidance & support for outsourced labour service providers.
- Maintain a cordial industrial relations environment with the trade union.
- Custodian of organization culture & champion of employee wellness
Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field. CHRP qualification is an added advantage.
- A current Practicing Certificate from the IHRM (K)
- At least 5 years' relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying Kenyan Labour Laws
- Experience developing & implementing HR solutions.
- Experience with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to juggle a wide range of responsibilities that may demand ongoing reprioritization.
- Attention to detail.
