The ESG Associate will play a key role in advancing d.light's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. This role focuses on supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of ESG initiatives and ensuring compliance with global sustainability standards, local regulations, and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in ESG, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to promoting sustainable practices that align with d.light’s mission of providing clean energy solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
ESG Strategy and Implementation
- Support the rollout and implementation of d.light’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) across all regions.
- Collaborate with the ESG Manager to identify key areas for improvement and develop ESG policies and initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of d.light’s operations with international ESG standards and industry best practices.
- Drive company-wide ESG awareness and integrate sustainability goals into business operations.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental, social, and governance regulations across operating locations.
- Conduct assessments to identify ESG risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain updated records of regulatory requirements and track compliance metrics.
- Coordinate with HR and regional teams to address local ESG requirements and ensure adherence to global policies.
- Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement
- Track and communicate progress on ESG initiatives and performance metrics.
- Support the development of communication materials that highlight d.light’s ESG efforts and impact.
Occupational, Health, and Safety (EHS)
- Promote a culture of Occupational, Health and safety excellence by serving as an OSH advocate across the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain OHS policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Support statutory audits, training programs, and compliance activities in partnership with local teams.
- Investigate and report on incidents while maintaining accurate and updated records.
- Follow up to ensure Accident Investigation Action plan is fully implemented
Capacity Building and Training
- Provide ESG training to employees, contractors, and partners to build organizational capability.
- Design and deliver workshops to improve understanding of ESG policies and promote best practices.
- Develop resources and tools to help teams effectively implement ESG initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or a related field; advanced certifications in ESG, EHS, or sustainability preferred.
- 2 - 4 years in ESG implementation, sustainability, or related fields, with experience in multi-national or corporate environments.
- In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards such as IFC Performance Standards, ISO14001, or GRI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
- Passionate about sustainability and creating social impact.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
