The Logistics Specialist – Liquid Chemicals is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of liquid chemical products within the warehouse. This role ensures safe and efficient handling in compliance with safety regulations, maintains accurate inventory records, and coordinates with various departments to facilitate seamless product distribution and warehouse operations. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be open-minded and willing to contribute to other logistics functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all liquid chemical products in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular physical inventories and reconcile with system data.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Receiving and Storage:
- Oversee the offloading and proper storage of incoming liquid chemicals.
- Ensure all products are labelled correctly and stored according to their specific requirements.
- Implement and maintain storage protocols to prevent contamination or degradation.
Order Fulfillment and Distribution:
- Coordinate the picking, packing, and dispatching of orders accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with transportation partners to schedule deliveries.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations related to the handling and storage of liquid chemicals.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections within the warehouse.
- Provide training for warehouse staff on proper handling procedures and emergency response protocols.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse operations and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Be flexible and willing to contribute to other logistics functions when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse logistics, specifically handling liquid chemicals.
- Experience in the liquid logistics market is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to chemical storage and handling.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Open-minded and willing to contribute to other logistics functions as needed.
