Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and supporting strategic decisions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss reports, and other key financial documents.

Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with UAE accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.

Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Manage and conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and identify opportunities for improvement.

Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.

Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to company standards.

Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations.

Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and other local tax laws.

Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus).

5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 years in a senior or supervisory role.

In-depth knowledge of UAE accounting practices, VAT regulations, and compliance standards.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Strong understanding of financial reporting, tax regulations, and accounting principles.

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing accounting teams.
